Here is a quick share of how I paint my nails. I did a casual french mani using a nude nail polish with a warm white beige color from H&M. I have been wearing bright bold nails since May but for this month I wanted to try something that is classic yet simple to do.
I start by using these tools to clean, cut and reshape my nails. Very simple tools that you can get anywhere from the drugstore.
Then, I first apply my base coat. I use this Nail-aid 8-in-1 Nude Manicure that I found from Walmart. I like it because when you wear it alone, your nails will look presentable and clean. I am not sure how true the strengthening benefits are, but I am giving it a good try and see what happens in the following months. Do you guys have any other recommendations?
Second I apply the nude color from NYC.
Third I quickly and slowly dab Masala Chai from H&M on the ends of my nails to make the french mani design. I didn't use any special tools because I wanted this to be quick and easy but still looks presentable. I think the H&M nails polishes are great and are also very inexpensive. I started replacing my nail polishes with the H&M brand because I found that almost all their nail polishes didn't chip as easily and they stayed on my nails for two weeks!
Last, I use the Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield base and top coat to finish my nails. I haven't found the perfect top coat yet but for now this will do :).
There are many nail hacks out there to speed the drying process of your nail polishes and one of them is using your handy hair dryer. This is what I use to speed dry my nails, but make sure to use the cool setting as the heat will slow down the drying process.
Another hack is to use drying drips or drying solution. I use this one from Revlon but I heard the OPI Drip dry is better.
Thank you so much for reading, but before you go I want to quickly share a Youtube Channel called cutepolish that I recently started watching. I saw many cool tips and tricks for painting your nails on the channel and I think it would be a great place for anyone looking for new inspirations on their next nail polish design!
Hi guys! It's been a while since I posted something on the blog. I am so sorry! I have a couple of good excuses, first being because I kind of lost the inspiration to blog since a recent family matter that occurred and also my camera was not doing so well. A quick warning for anybody who has a 50mm lens for Canon that cost $125 please DON'T DROP IT! Or even DON'T put it in your camera after dropping your camera. It will GET STUCK! I am so serious and it is so sad because I watched and read good amount of articles to see if I can fix it on my own, but you won't like what they will say.
Today for some reason my camera was good and cooperating and I was able to take some photos for my monthly favorites because I felt inspired to share some of my favorite products that I have been enjoying since April. I still need to bring my camera to a repair shop though, but I haven't gotten around it yet because I am scared of how much it would cost and also the news that will follow. So, for now I am just working with it and see how far I can use it until I really have to bring to the repair shop. I will also keep you updated on it because I feel like this is a good thing to know especially for bloggers.
Okay, so for my favorites I sorted out only the products that I have been using a lot repeatedly since April because I think they are really great products. I know I kind of combined all three months, but I noticed for me since I don't have that much makeup and I don't go through any products that quickly anyway that I think this is how I am going to do my monthly favorites from now on and just combine probably two or three months worth of absolute favorite products.
If you have the same skin color as I am I think the Koko K will look really good on you because when I wore this, I got really good compliments on how beautiful the color looks on me and also it smells really good and it's quite long lasting on the lips. Since it's the summer I feel like glossy lips are on trend right now and this bareMinerals lip gloss is really good, the formula is not sticky and annoying and it feels very hydrating on the lips and it's great as a topper on any nude base lip color. I also really like Sao Paulo from OFRA, I got the mini one that cost around $9+ on Hautelook. I feel like this lip color is a really good shade on any makeup you are wearing and I have seen so many people on Youtube wear this color and swear by how amazing it is on the lips and I totally agree!
Before, we move on to the other two products I want to quickly share my experience with the Hanalei Lip Treatment. Since the beginning of this year I have been experiencing really dry and flaky lips. I tried keeping it moisturize hoping it would naturally heal by itself using a good combination of lip balms, but nothing worked. If I skip a day of not using a lip balm, my lips would instantly go back to being dry and flaky. It was very frustrating because I couldn't wear any of my favorite matte liquid lipsticks and I know my lips are not doing so well because they just don't feel and look healthy.
However, since I received this lip treatment from Ipsy. It has become a total game changer. I would definitely say that this product is life changing, I think one of its amazing features is the Kukui oil. It definitely works because my lips is back to being healthy and beautiful in just three days. I really swear by it, I was tempt to buy another lip treatment from Josie Maran just to try it out, but I couldn't do it because the Hanalei one is just so good. I looked up more reviews on amazon and everyone says they love it. So, this one is definitely a keeper, I use it every night and when I forget to use it for a couple of days my lips are still healthy and hydrated. The only thing that worries me is its $25, which is quite expensive, but since I got it from Ipsy I am really grateful that it only cost $10 in total together with other products, but now I am kind of scared when it runs out.
So, for anyone experiencing really bad lips I recommend Hanalei Lip Treatment 100%, it's really good and you will really like the result. Just save a little bit or put aside some money here and there since it's expensive and if you are like me a college student :).
Now onto the last two products. First, I got the mini deluxe sample of Smashbox X-Rated Mascara on one of my Ipsy Glam Bag and I must say it's amazing! I know a lot of people love the full exposure one which I also have, but I like the X-Rated one more since I prefer the really flared out kind of spiky lashes look. It is also because I have tiny lashes and this one really helps a lot :)!
Lastly, let's share and talk about the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Face Palette :). Were you able to get it? I hope you did! Because this one is amazing! I love the size of the mirror and the colors are beautiful! The only problem is I think I heard from people that the texture and feel of Champagne Pop on the face palette is quite different from the individual compact highlighter, but I think its okay. I have been wanting the Champagne Pop for a while and this face palette looks like a really good deal especially for a beginner like me :). Maybe later I can get the one in the individual compact once I have used up the one on the face palette.
Thank you guys so much for reading! I hope you like my input on my favorite products lately.
Keep on smiling :D!
Much Love Rx
